About Vine Street
Christian Church
The Lords Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come - thy will be done ON EARTH as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us OUR sins, as we forgive those who sin against US
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen
Doxology
Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow; praise him, all creatures here below; praise him above ye heavenly host: Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
Weekly Communion
We partake of each element as it is passed.
All who follow Christ are invited to this table.
The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), while founded on American soil in the early 1800s, is uniquely equipped to live up to its identity that it is a "movement for wholeness in a fragmented world." The denomination was born in the 1800s, and continues to be influenced by
its founding ideals of our unity in Christ with openness and diversity in practice and belief.
The Disciples Vision, Mission, Imperative and Covenant statement calls the communion to be a faithful, growing church that demonstrates true community, deep Christian spirituality and a passion for justice. The Design of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
Disciples of Christ Statement Of Identity
We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness
in a fragmented world. As part of the one body of Christ, we welcome all to the Lord's Table as God has welcomed us.

Vine Street Christian Church is part of the CCIW (Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Illinois & Wisconsin) regional ministry, of which every member of our congregation is also a member of. The region provides its members with opportunities for fellowship, spiritual development, leadership training, camps, retreats, workshops and other special events. Our church is blessed by the mission of our region as they are "Growing Disciples congregations for healthy, vital ministry."

As members of our congregation, may we carry out the Mission of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ): To be and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving and serving from our doorsteps "to the ends of the earth."
(Acts 1:8)
